Since January 1, 2016, consumers must have the possibility of resorting to a mediation mechanism with a view to the amicable resolution of any dispute. This obligation results from Article L.612-1 of the Consumer Code which also specifies: "When there is a consumer mediator whose competence extends to all companies in a field of activity to which it belongs, the trader always allows the consumer to use it".
